In steps towards resolving the differences in the National Defense Authorization Act this month, Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-TX) and Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA), named the following members of the House Armed Services Committee to serve on the House-Senate Conference committee:

The House and Senate versions of the bill were divided on issues such as the size of the army, how many F-35s to buy and how much to spend on missile defense, due to North Korea’s increasingly threatening missile testing. The conference committee is expected to resolve these issues and wrap up their negotiations by the end of the year.
